Introduced to Yoga and Ayurveda by her grandmother as a child, Nisha was initiated on the yogic path from a young age and found a strong connection and desire to expand her learning in this realm. She was initially submerged into traditional practices and grew up incorporating these into her daily routine and lifestyle. An avid traveler, always looking to gain more insight from real-life experience, she has taken classes and workshops including yoga and meditation in many sacred destinations such as Rishikesh, home of the Holy Ganges, Dharamshala the birthplace of the Dalai Lama, and Bali, the island of the Gods.
She holds a B.S in Human Development and Family Studies from UCONN and has obtained her M.S. in Psychology, attributing this interest to a fascination with the mind/body connection.
She completed her Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher training in Goa, India in Iyengar yoga in 2014. http://www.aumyoga.in/ While obtaining her certification, she not only learned yoga, the physical practice of asanas (postures), but also Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Breathwork, and Ayurveda. It was there that she fully encompassed the Ayurvedic lifestyle and desired to continue to learn more, as yoga is just one of the 5 limbs that fall under Ayurveda.
She also practices and teaches Vinyasa, Kundalini and YIN yoga and has continually taken workshops and additional certification classes to broaden her knowledge of the different types of yoga as well as continually educating herself by being immersed in the Yoga Sutras and other old Vedic scriptures and Ayurvedic practices.
Nisha holds a certification in Yoga Ball Therapy, trained by the founder of Yoga Tune Up, Jill Miller, in which you hold yoga postures for extended periods with a tension relief ball to aid with myofascial massage aiding in injury, and tension release of muscles. https://www.tuneupfitness.com/

She received her training as a Certified Holistic Practitioner accredited by the National Board of Drugless Practitioners specializing in Ayurveda from Ayurveda's World in New York City in 2013.
